Resumen This article describes the educational methodology related to the ‘Software and Protocols Engineering: Software for Medical Equipment’ subject, belonging to the Engineering School of the University of Navarra (TECNUN). The integral design of embedded systems is successfully overcome through the use of techniques from Software Engineering and Systems Engineering, and the novel use of the Rhapsody® tool, applied to the biomedical environment. In this sense, the organization and contents of the subject are shown, as well as an example of a project carried out by some students.
